One new Covid-19 case recorded in NHS Highland area over last 24 hours

ONE new case of Covid-19 has been recorded in the NHS Highland area over the past 24 hours.

The figure was reported this afternoon as the latest Scottish Government statistics were published.

It brings the region's cumulative total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 4959.

Across Scotland as a whole, 422 new cases of Covid-19 were reported.

Some 107 of those were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area. Fifteen were in NHS Grampian.

Of 17,627 new tests for Covid-19 that reported results, 2.6 per cent were positive.

And no new reported deaths of people who have tested positive were recorded.

A total of 22 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19.

The figures state that 264 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19.

And the stats also show that 2,385,709 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination – and 312,320 have received their second dose.
