There have been no additional confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Highlands in the past 24 hours, new figures have shown.

It means the region has had no new recorded cases for at least three days. It may be longer because the Scottish Government took a break from reporting daily regional breakdowns from last Sunday to last Thursday. Prior to that, the area had gone three days without registering a new case.

The total recorded by NHS Highlands remains at 373. The number of people being treated in hospital with confirmed Covid-19 is still seven, while the number of people in intensive care is still fewer than five.

Some 26 people have tested positive across the Scotland in the last 24 hours, taking the national total to 18,156.

And 2472 people who tested positive have died across the country since the outbreak began – the same as yesterday.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian recorded two new cases since yesterday, taking its tally to 1412. Its hospitals were treating 47 people for the disease, with fewer than five receiving treatment in intensive care.
