No new registered coronavirus cases in Highlands – and number of people in hospital drops

There have been no additional confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Highlands, new figures have shown.

It means the total recorded by NHS Highlands stays at 335.

The number of people being treated in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 decreased from 12 to 10, while the number of people in intensive care is still fewer than five.

Some 72 people have tested positive across the whole of Scotland in the last 24 hours, taking the national total to 14,969.

And 2261 people have died across the country since the outbreak began, a rise of 16 on the same point yesterday.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian also had no increase in its recorded cases so its overall tally stayed at 1223. Its hospitals were also treating 70 people for the disease, with fewer than five receiving treatment in intensive care.
