No new registered coronavirus cases in Highlands and no rise in national death toll

There has been no additional confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Highlands in the past 24 hours, new figures have shown.

And also in the past day there have been no new reported deaths of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 anywhere in Scotland.

Some 18 people have tested positive across the Scotland in the last 24 hours, taking the national total to 15,621.

The total recorded by NHS Highlands remained at 339.

The number of people being treated in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 stayed at six, while the number of people in intensive care is still fewer than five.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian recorded two new positive tests in the past day, increasing its tally to 1286. Its hospitals were also treating 60 people for the disease, with fewer than five receiving treatment in intensive care.

Since the outbreak began, 2415 people who have tested positive have died in Scotland.
