The finishing touches are being made to a new business showcase event which is set to debut in Aviemore tomorrow.

The first-ever Scottish Growth Gathering and Highland Expo is a 24-hour conference and exhibition which will take place at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort.

It will give exhibitors and delegates the opportunity to benefit from a condensed networking experience which will bring together participants from across the region and beyond.

The event is the brainchild of Aberdeen-based Granite PR and sees the company’s tried and tested Expo formula reworked for a new audience.

Previous Expos have taken place in Dundee, Perth and Aberdeen with the latter having hosted nine Granite Expos in consecutive years.

Granite PR managing director Brett Jackson said: “It is exciting to be bringing our Expo format to the Highlands for the first time and to be shaping it in line with a colourful, diverse geographic and economic landscape.

“We hope that, as well as deepening our own relationship with clients in the area, this new event will create an important business showcase and networking forum for Aviemore and the wider Highland region.

"Our aim is that, in one day, delegates will have access to as many people as they would in months of one-to-one meetings making it a very time-efficient way of networking and growing business contacts.”

The Scottish Growth Gathering and Highland Expo features a drinks reception and networking dinner this evening followed by a conference and exhibition programme on Thursday.

Thursday’s exhibition is free for visitors to attend from 11.30am until 4pm and can be booked via Eventbrite.

The keynote speaker is Newtonmore-based outdoors broadcaster and author Cameron McNeish.

Other speakers include Nicola McAlley, of STV; Richard Bath (Scottish Field); Graeme Bell (Inverness Airport); Mark Tate, (Cairngorms Business Partnership chief executive); Adam J Bell, (Moment | Modern Marketing) and Stacy Edghill, LinkedWin – Connecting for Growth with LinkedIn.

There will also be a cooking demonstration in the main exhibition hall by Macdonald Aviemore Resort head chef, Mark Ward and seminars including 'How to Wreck Your Business' by author and creator Stuart Mason, and 'Employment Law – important updates for 2020!' by Pamela Williams, of Law at Work.
