A9 reopens but police warn of delays

By SPP Reporter

THE A9 has reopened following a lorry fire but drivers are being warned to expect delays – especially at peak times.

Police confirmed the stretch of road two miles south of the Slochd summit is now open with traffic control in place.

The road was closed in the early hours of this morning (Friday) after a lorry trailer caught fire.

Twenty-two firefighters were sent to the incident after receiving reports of the blaze at around 1.45am.
