Holders Newtonmore lifted the MacTavish Cup for the third year on the trot with a 2-1 win over league champions Kinlochshiel at Bught Park in Inverness.

Newtonmore top the list of MacTavish Cup winners and Saturday’s success takes their tally to 42 triumphs, 15 ahead of Badenoch rivals Kingussie.

Kinlochshiel took the lead in the 31st minute when a cross ball was palmed down by More keeper Kenny Ross.

However, the former Scotland skipper was unable to clear to safety and the ball was swept across the goalmouth by John MacRae where his brother Keith managed to get a touch on it to steer the ball in to the net.
