Missing Aviemore pensioner is found safe and well

Police have said that a missing Aviemore pensioner has been traced and is safe and well.

Concerns had been growing for Helen Reid was last seen at her home in address on Railway Terrace, Aviemore at 10.30am yesterday.

But Police Scotland have now confirmed the 83 year old has been found.

A force spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who shared or has otherwise assisted with the earlier appeal for information."

A helicopter could be heard overnight in the Aviemore area presumably taking part in the search for the missing pensioner.

Sergeant Karen Kerr had said earlier today that it unusual for Ms Reid to be away from her home address for so long.
