Missing Aviemore man found safe and well

A missing Aviemore man has been found safe and well, Police Scotland has confirmed.

Searches had been conducted late this afternoon in the Aviemore area, and included a search and rescue helicopter.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Strathy: "The search was in relation to missing person Greig Allan who has just been traced safe and well."

A spokeswoman for HM Coastguard said: "We received a call from Police Scotland just before 3.15pm requesting assistance in the search for a missing person in Aviemore.

"Nairn and Inverness coastguard rescue teams and the coastguard helicopter from Inverness were sent. The missing person was found by the police."

Police in Aviemore had launched an appeal on social media for information to trace the 49-year-old.

He was reported as missing from his home address in the village after last being seen at the retail park this morning.
