Businesses in the strath will get the chance to put questions to two senior Scottish Government cabinet members shortly on the Covid-19 emergency.
Cairngorm Business Partnership members registered for the online session have submitted questions beforehand to be answered by Finance Secretary Kate Forbes and Rural Economy and Tourism Secretary Fergus Ewing.
The business operators will then have the opportunity to pose a follow up question to the two local MSPs.
The Q&A is being held on the Zoom app at 2pm today. More than 60 members have registered.
Mark Tate, CBP chief executive, said: “Throughout this crisis both Kate and Fergus have had their doors open to our comments, suggestions and feedback.
“Very early on Fergus gave a cross-section of our members the opportunity to feed in their concerns.
“We are delighted that they are sparing an hour of their very valuable time to listen to issues, concerns, feedback and questions from CBP members, all businesses operating in the Cairngorms National Park.”
Mr Tate continued: “The fragility that a total reliance on a visitor economy brings has been made even more clear by this crisis and, unfortunately, is likely to become more stark over the coming weeks and months.
“Because of our economic reliance on visitors we are likely to need more support, for longer, than other industries and that support will need to taper away as we reopen and businesses get back on their feet. During times of recession it is often not the recession itself that causes businesses to fail but their weakness and lack of cash resources to trade their way out of recession.
“The Government support that has been offered to date has been a lifeline for many, we need to ensure that that lifeline is not taken away too early.”
