Highland Heroes 2022 – Mikeysline named charity of the year

For one charitable organisation, the Highland Heroes event gave them some well-deserved recognition for their efforts in helping those with their mental wellbeing.
Emily Stokes, chief executive officer of Mikeysline, said picking up the charitable organisation of the year award had made them all “thrilled and so very proud”.
The charity offers support via its textline and has expanded its reach using Messenger, Webchat, Twitter and WhatsApp as well mas number of in-person Hives.
Textline and call-back services have tripled recently and an additional young persons’ service was launched in 2021, working specifically with secondary school age youngsters.
The nomination said: “The staff and volunteers are fabulous and are there to listen and talk to with kindness, and offer support when someone needs.”
Ms Stokes said: “We are absolutely thrilled and so very proud and grateful to have received the support of our Highland community in voting us as the winners of the charitable organisation of the year at the Highland Heroes Awards 2022.
“Our volunteers and staff have worked so hard to meet the increased need for our services, whilst embracing and adapting to new changes and developments in the way we work to make our support more accessible and available to more people.
“This award reinforces the importance of all we have achieved and gives us the drive and energy to continue to do even more.”
