LNER is warning customers to check before they travel as a special scaled down timetable will be coming into operation.

The rail operator will implement a revised weekend timetable on Saturday and Sunday.

From Monday, additional timetable changes will see around 40 per cent of LNER’s usual weekday services running.

LNER provides a daily service linking the strath with the Edinburgh, Newcastle and London and several smaller stations en-route.

The new Azuma trains were recently introduced on the daily route between the Highlands and London.

A company spokesperson said: "LNER will continue to operate services covering its core routes including at peak times to ensure key workers can get to and from work while also practising good social distancing.

"The advice for those people whose journeys are absolutely essential is to check before travelling.

"As this remains a fast-moving situation, all LNER services are subject to change. "

Details of the most up to date timetables and travel information can be found at www.lner.co.uk or follow @LNER on Twitter.
