A well-known brand name is moving in on Aviemore's industrial estate.

Screwfix, the UK's largest multi-channel retailer of trade tools, accessories and hardware products, is understood to be the new tenant on the latest unit taking shape on Dalfaber Industrial Estate.

Founded in 1979 as the Woodscrew Supply Company, the firm was acquired in July 1999 by Kingfisher plc which also owns B&Q and is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

A Screwfix spokesperson told the Strathy: “We are continuing to expand our store network to bring Screwfix closer to even more customers, and details about each new store, including planned dates for opening, will be announced over the coming year.”
