Kingussie's new head teacher is appointed

The new head teacher of Kingussie High School is Ian Adamson.

Mr Adamson has been depute head teacher at the school since June 2013 and was appointed by Highland Council following recent interview.

Mr Adamson said: "I am excited and very proud to be appointed head teacher of Kingussie High School.

"It is a school community that I know very well having worked here since 2013.

"The school has been on a fantastic journey and I look forward to working with the pupils, parents and staff in my new role."

Mr Adamson previously worked in Thurso High School for11 years as principal teacher of physical education before becoming faculty head of health and wellbeing.

The school roll is 401 pupils.

Highland Council convener Bill Lobban told the Strathy: “Kingussie High School has benefitted from an extremely strong management team over recent years and I am please to see this continue with the new appointment,"
