Man faced murder charge in court after death of John MacKinnon on Skye

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of a man on the Isle of Skye.
Finlay MacDonald (39) appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court facing charges of murder and three counts of attempted murder.
It is understood the murder charge alleges that MacDonald repeatedly shot a man at a property in Teangue, a fishing village on the island.
MacDonald made no plea and was remanded in custody.
No application for bail was made.
The court appearance comes following the sudden death of John MacKinnon (47) on Wednesday.
Three others, a 32-year-old woman, a 63-year-old woman and a man also aged 63, were also seriously injured during a spate of disturbances across the island and areas of Wester Ross.
The incident sent shockwaves through the local community.
Mr MacKinnon's family later released a statement through police.
They said: “John was a loving husband, father of six, brother, uncle and grandfather to his family, and was a much-loved member of the community.
“John loved the outdoors, was a keen motorcyclist and, as a loved father, shared his activities with his family.”
A large police presence remained in the areas affected.
