A well-attended morning service was led by local minister Rev Charles Finnie and included an address by Rev Donald Walker, latterly Moderator for Abernethy Presbytery.

The service closed a centuries-old chapter, with the kirk built as a rectangular E to W orientated church in 1768, on the site of an earlier church or chapel and set within a circular walled enclosure.

The church was subsequently repaired in 1833, 1880 and 1952, the last restoration involving Sir Basil Spence, who also designed some of the church furniture.

The building has been sold to Alvie Estate, who have confirmed it will remain as a church available for special services.
