Additional data also explains that Brits are planning to spend more than 10 hours on UK motorways this summer, with 78 per cent of British holidaymakers intending to travel by motor vehicle to their holiday destination.

Understanding the popularity of UK road trip holidays, Collect Service Go has analysed over half a million Instagram hashtag posts to create a list of the top 20 most popular scenic driving routes in the UK, "helping motorists plan their dream road trip".

The North Coast 500 route (NC500) in Scotland is the most popular scenic road to travel on this summer with over 113,000 posts on the platform. Google search data also reveals a 450% increase in searches for ‘North Coast 500 Route Planner’ over the past year, proving that this road really is the place to drive this staycation.

Our own Snow Roads Scenic Route makes the top 20 at number 16, with 7,054 posts.
