Jamie Halcro Johnston MSP has hit out at the Scottish government for the way it's handling the latest railway dispute.
“Not content within mismanaging our ferries network, Nicola Sturgeon has now turned her government’s hand to mismanaging our rail network too," he said last night.
“Our railways provide vital links for communities across the Highlands, reaching some of the most remote parts of our region and linking them to the larger towns and the services they provide.
“They also bring visitors into the heart of the Highlands, which is so important for local businesses and helps reduce the need for long car journeys.
“But what on earth are those people who want - or need - to use our railways supposed to think when they can’t even rely on the train turning up on time - or even turning up at all?
“The SNP promised improvements but, less than two months after nationalising Scotland’s railways, the only thing the SNP has delivered is cuts, cancellations and conflict with the unions.
“It’s no wonder that Nicola Sturgeon is waving goodbye to Scotland and jetting off to the USA for a few days”.
