Badenoch and Strathspey escape worst of Storm Ashley but surfaces are damp
Drivers across the Highare being advised to to take “extreme care” this morning.
While the worst of Storm Ashley was seen on the west, with windblown debris affecting roads, operatives are working across the region to clear roads.
In Badenoch and Strathspey the roads are damp but road surface temperatures are positive and the Highland Council team has reported ‘no known problems’ thus far.
As of 10am this morning surrounding areas were reported also as damp but with positive surface temperatures.

A roads spokesperson said: “The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.”
