Traffic Scotland's latest travel advice: 'Don't'

Traffic Scotland have just issued the latest travel advice for all of the country which is now under Tier Four regulations during the Covid pandemic.

"Stay at Home" is the number one tip.

"To minimise the risk of spreading the virus, you must stay at home as much as possible.

"By law, in a level 4 area, you can leave your home (or garden) only if you have a reasonable excuse to leave your home except for an essential purpose.

"To minimise the risk of spread of Coronavirus it is crucial that we all avoid unnecessary travel."

The public must, by law, stay at home unless they have a reasonable excuse.

"If you can, work from home and avoid travel unless necessary.

"If you have to travel for essential purposes, you should follow the guidance on travelling safely

"You should also keep journeys within the area to an absolute minimum."

The guidance on new lockdown regulations came into effect yesterday.

The current Scottish Government guidance, given the state of the epidemic across the UK is that people avoid any unnecessary travel between Scotland and England, Wales, or Northern Ireland.

The stipulations aplies to people who live in Scotland and to people who live elsewhere in the UK who are thinking of coming to Scotland.

"This may change as the virus spreads or is suppressed in different areas, and as the rules and guidance in place there change.

"If you have to travel for essential purposes, please use the link to check the local protection level and the guidance on travelling safely."

Remember FACTS for a safer Scotland, you should:

wear a face covering

avoid crowded places

clean hands and surfaces regularly

stay 2m away from other people
