HEAVY overnight snow has brought traffic disruption and sparked school closures.

Kingussie High School is one of three schools that are currently closed across the Highlands due to bad weather. Strathdearn Primary at Tomatin is also affected.

The A9 was also badly hit, with heavy snows leaving the A9 impassable at the Slochd and Moy earlier this morning, although both locations have since been cleared.

Traffic Scotland was still advising motorists to take care while driving and to keep speeds down to cope with the conditions.

The disruption impacted Scottish Citylink services, with the 6.45am out of Inverness Bus Station running 80 minutes late due to the adverse weather. However, rail services were running as normal.
