Further seven coronavirus cases for NHS Highland area

Seven new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the NHS Highland area in the latest 24-hour period.
It comes as Nicola Sturgeon announced to the Scottish Parliament that there would be no immediate changes to the current tiers each local authority area is placed in, but promised a more in-depth review next week.
She said the 11 areas which are currently facing tier four restrictions would see them lifted on Friday, December 11.
Around the north, NHS Grampian had 43 new positive cases recorded.
The Western Isles had a further three cases and one positive result was returned in Orkney. Shetland had no new cases.
Across Scotland, there were 754 new cases of Covid-19 reported – the majority of which were in the central belt areas – and a further 34 new reported deaths of people who had tested positive.
A total of 1021 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19, 70 of whom were in intensive care.
