Further rise in number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Highlands

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Highlands has risen again in the last 24 hours.

One further case has been confirmed, taking the total number of cases in the region to 13.

The number of Scottish people testing positive for Covid-19 rose by 85 cases to 584 and there have now been 16 deaths among those contracting the disease – two more than yesterday.

There number of confirmed cases in neighbouring Grampian remains at 24, the same as yesterday.

The worst affected health board areas in Scotland are Greater Glasgow & Clyde (183) and Lanarkshire (75).

A total of 9968 tests for Covid-19 have been carried out in Scotland.
