The Highlands have now gone four days without any further positive tests for Covid-19.

The number of cases confirmed in the NHS Highland area since the start of the pandemic remained at 376 when the Scottish Government published the latest daily update.

Across the whole of Scotland there were only six new positive tests confirmed in the last 24 hours, and there were no additional deaths. Nationally there have been 2490 fatalities among those with confirmed coronavirus since the outbreak began.

The whole of the north of Scotland also recorded no new additional cases in the past day, with figures for NHS Grampian, Orkney, Shetland, Eileanan Siar, and NHS Tayside all remaining static today.

NHS Grampian's number of hospitalised cases also fell from 34 to 33 overnight. Other health boards in the north had so few hospital cases that their count fell below the five case minimum cut off point in the official stats.

Nationally, there were 342 people in hospital who had tested positive for the coronavirus. This was down from the 358 who were recorded 24 hours earlier. Three of these were in intensive care last night.
