Police found the fingerprints of a man on a package of cannabis worth over £16,000 when officers stopped a car on the A9.
Although Josh Millar was not in the vehicle when it was searched at Lynebeg on May 11, 2018, forensics found his prints on the box containing 196.8 grams of the drugs and he was later charged with being concerned in the supply of drugs.
Millar (27), of Dominie Park, Balfron in Stirlingshire, admitted the offence at Inverness Sheriff Court.
Solicitor David Kinloch said Millar had gone to an address to buy cannabis, which he smoked at the time.
“He obtained a few grams and then helped to repackage the drugs,” he said. “He had no knowledge of what happened to it thereafter. “
Sheriff Gary Aitken ordered Millar to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the community.
