Financial help is still available as part of the Taxi and Private Hire Operator Grant Scheme.

Highland Council has contacted Taxi and Private Hire Operators to invite them to apply for a grant through the Scottish Government’s recently-opened Taxi and Private Hire Operator Support Fund.

The scheme complements the previous fund that supported taxi drivers.

Taxi operators may be eligible for a grant of between £1,000 and £15,000 depending on the number vehicle licences held.

More than 170 applications have been processed since the scheme opened last month but many have yet to respond.

While no deadline has been set by the Scottish Government for when this grant scheme will close but, as this could take place at short notice, the council is urging eligible taxi and private hire operators to complete and submit the application form and supporting evidence as soon as possible.

Further details on the Taxi and Private Hire Driver and Operator Support Fund can be found on the Scottish Government’s website.
