A long established Moray business has marked a remarkable milestone this month with a celebration at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort.

Gleaner Ltd, founded in Elgin, celebrated its 70th anniversary with a party on November 2 at an event which brought together employees, directors and owners Jane and Stephen Scott along with 4th generation owner Evan Scott.

Nearly 200 guests enjoyed an evening within the resort’s Osprey Suite where they were treated to a bespoke fine dining menu which included salmon and beef fillet.

The resort’s kitchen team created tasting menus using the finest of produce from across the Highlands.

The evening also included heartfelt speeches from both Stephen Scott and Managing Director, David Todd.

Speaking at the party on behalf of the owners, Stephen Scott said: “What we, as the current custodians of the business, are absolutely determined will not change, including when Evan (Scott) becomes the sole owner, is the original ethos: humility, giving back to the community and, importantly, treating our staff as we would want our own family to be treated.”

The Macdonald Aviemore Resort proved to be the ideal venue for the 70th anniversary celebration.

“From beautifully arranged event spaces to the exquisite dining experience, every aspect of the venue contributed to an unforgettable celebration, making it an ideal location for such a momentous occasion.

“The general consensus from the party goers was, that as the invitation stated, it was “The party to end all parties!”

Working closely with the Scott family, the pair ensured every detail of the event was meticulously executed.

Aimee Walker, Moray Chamber of Commerce Operations Manager, said: “It was a joy to work alongside the team and family throughout this experience and we’re incredibly grateful for their continued support of the chamber.

The highlight of the evening was the live performance by Abbacadabra, an ABBA tribute band, which kept the dance floor alive into the wee small hours.

To round off the night, each guest received a goody bag as a token of appreciation.
