Online enrolment for all Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) providers including local authority nurseries, partner settings and commissioned childminders opens today.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no face-to-face enrolment again this year.

Highland Council education chiefs have stressed that parents and carers must not visit the ELC setting during enrolment week.

Children born between 1 March 2018 and 29 February 2020 will be entitled to a funded ELC place.

For all ELC places, enrolment week will run until this Friday.

A Highland Council spokesperson said: "Parents and carers who do not have access to the online enrolment process should contact their preferred ELC setting during enrolment week via email or telephone to request a paper copy of the enrolment form.

"Parents and carers are also welcome to phone the setting of their choice to find out more about what is offered.

"To find out what provision is available in local communities, a helpful map can be found on the council's website."
