Dulnain Bridge woman caught speeding at up to 50mph in local 30mph zone

A woman who was caring for her taxi operator father took one of his vehicles to pick him up from a local cafe.

But 45 year old Caroline Ronald of Fraser Road, Skye of Curr by Dulnain Bridge drove too fast in a local 30mph zone on May 9 last year and was caught by police monitoring the road that afternoon.

Ronald admitted driving carelessly at excessive speed of up to 50mph.

Defending, Natalie Paterson told Inverness Sheriff Court: "She is a carer for her father. She does not possess a taxi licence.

“But her licence is important to her as she drives her father to and from visits to her mother, who is suffering from dementia.

Ronald was fined £670 by Sheriff Gary Aitken and had her licence endorsed with six penalty points.
