With temperatures set to climb this weekend, police have reminded the public that driving to a beach would be considered a breach of social distancing rules.
Forecasters at the Met Office say it will be sunny for the Highlands this weekend, with temperatures reaching up to 11°C or 52°F.
It has raised fears that locations such as Loch Morlich, the Secret Beach near Fort George and Nairn beach front will prove too tempting for many people to resist.
But police have said they are working with partners in the local authority, and will be undertaking patrols in the area.
Nairn resident Brian Whyte said yesterday: "I live near the beach and there has been a steady flow of traffic to the beach from people.
"People just need to take the advice and stay home. We don't want the virus spread in Nairn."
