Badenoch and Strathspey warning over fake £20 doing the rounds

Warnings are going out on local social media that a batch of counterfeit ‘new’ £20 notes is doing the rounds in Badenoch and Strathspey.

All those who come into contact with the King Charles version should check them very carefully before passing them on.

Anyone with suspicious should contact Police Scotland on 101.

Grantown Grapevine’s own post today warned: “Hi everyone, just to let you know that there are fake £20 notes going about town.

“English notes with the king on, all have same serial number and are extremely purple in colour.”

The Strathy has asked the police for more details.
