Coylumbridge goes extra mile for charity





HILTON Coylumbridgeis inviting locals to step up and travel “Around the World in a Day” this Sunday.

The event is part of Hilton in the Community Foundation’s annual summer charity challenge.

All proceeds raised from this year’s Miles for Fun local fundraiser will be donated to Aviemore Youth Club which provides much needed facilities for young people in the area.

The event is part of a continental wide challenge organised by Hilton in the Community Foundation, the official charity of Hilton Worldwide in Europe.

Hotel team members, charity partners and the public will all be working together on the day across more than 100hotels in eight countries.

They will collectively attempt to virtually travel 24,901.55 miles, the circumference of the earth, all in aid of charities supporting ill and disadvantaged children and young adults, chosen by each hotel.

Members of the public will join Hilton staff and families in running, walking or cycling five kilometres around the surrounding area from 2pm.

Children are invited to join Cyril the Squirrel and friends in a treasure hunt in the hotel grounds, and there will also be a Heroes Welcome barbeque for everyone who takes part in the Woodshed Bar afterwards.

Mr Iain Miller, general manager of Hilton Coylumbridge, said: "This year’s event is an opportunity for the community to get together and to have fun in support of a very good cause.

"Our community work is an important part of our hospitality philosophy and our team is very excited to be working together to support Aviemore Youth Club.
