Love Island could be filmed in the Scottish Highlands this year due to fears that the coronavirus lockdown restrictions will carry on over the summer.

The Scottish Sun reports that the popular ITV dating show could be moved to the UK with bookies predicting a 6/1 chance that filming could take place in the Highlands.

London is the bookies favourite at 2/1, with the Isle of Man being second favourite at 4/1.

A spokesman for Paddy Power said: "Lockdown is putting pressure on the upcoming series of Love Island, and there are rumours producers could relocate the show much closer to home."

ITV is not thought to be revealing its plans for the 2020 show at this stage.

Earlier this year, the winter Love Island series saw Inverness personal trainer and model Wallace Wilson enter the villa where he spent a week before being dumped from the island.
