Police were called out after concerns were raised over a group of wild campers who had pitched their tents on the shore of Loch Morlich near Aviemore.

They were spotted on the Loch Morlich watersports webcam on Wednesday and they were spotted lighting a campfire.

Residents were concerned because it was felt their actions had breached the current Covid-19 lockdown regulations and there was also a risk the fire could spread to nearby vegetation.

However by yesterday morning the group had packed their tents and moved on.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We received a report of people camping at the beach at Loch Morlich, Glenmore around 9.55pm on Wednesday, 27 May, 2020. Officers attended and engaged with the individuals. No fines were given.”
