Badenoch Broadband has completed the installation of fibre optic broadband to the community of Ballintean in Glenfeshie.
A total of six properties there are now connected to the community broadband provider's state-of-the-art network and now have access to superfast broadband.
The new service, which was partly funded by government vouchers, will allow the hospitality operators at Ballintean to offer fast reliable broadband to their guests.
“We are delighted to have completed this project in Glenfeshie,” said Robert Cumming, Director of Badenoch Broadband. “The installation was particularly challenging, given the remote and densely forested location.”
“Our remit is to provide superfast broadband to the communities in the strath that have been overlooked by the legacy providers, and this project has been an excellent example of that.
“We’re looking forward to connecting more communities to our state-of-the-art network in the near future using a combination of fibre and wireless links.”
“There are often government vouchers available for the installation of superfast broadband in remote locations, so if your property isn’t currently able to access fast internet, it’s always worth getting in touch to see what we can do for you."
Mr Cumming added: “We’re continually upgrading and expanding our network and are actively planning to extend our network to the north-east, in the direction of Nethy Bridge and Grantown.”
