Police looking for missing London man Marc Drostie have urged people in the Aviemore and Grantown area to check their sheds, gardens and outbuildings.

The plea comes as officers grow increasingly concerned for the 28-year-old’s wellbeing.

The fresh appeal also follows a new possible sighting of him in the Anagach woods area of Grantown on Christmas Eve.

Mr Drostie is believed to have travelled to the Aviemore area from London on Thursday, December 12. A missing person appeal was first launched last weekend, amid concern for his wellbeing.

Since then, members of the public have come forward to share several possible sightings of him. These included sightings in the Abernethy National Nature Reserve, near Nethy Bridge, between Thursday, December 19 and Saturday, December 21.

And in their latest update on Boxing Day, police added that he is believed to have been seen in the Anagach woods area, Grantown around 3pm on Christmas Eve.

Mr Drostie is described as white, around 5ft 9in tall, slim build, with dark hair. He is believed to be wearing a black puffer jacket and carrying a blue rucksack.

Inspector Ross McCartney said: “Concern for Marc’s wellbeing continues to grow and we are appealing to anyone with any information on where he may be to come forward.

“We also ask people to check gardens, sheds and outbuildings in case he has sought shelter.

“Anyone with sightings or information of where Marc may be should call Police Scotland on 101 and quote ‘reference 1774 of December 21’.”
