The popular Cairngorms Farmers Market returns are to return starting in Grantown early next month.

The market will be held in The Square on Sunday, May 2, from 10am until 3pm.

Despite the Covid pandemic, organisers said the markets continued to grow last summer after the Covid lockdown was lifted.

The monthly market will run on Sundays from May until November, with an extra pre-Christmas event on November 28 in Grantown.

Up to 30 local growers, crafters and food producers are expected every month with products ranging from Mauritian and Indonesian street food to cheeses, confectionery, artisan breads and preserves, jewellery, skin care and eco products, plants and much more.

A Cairngorms Farmers Market spokeswoman said: "Stallholder listings are posted on the market's Facebook page in the week running up to each event, enabling shoppers to contact producers ahead of time to pre-order if they wish.

"It is also used as a way for the market to introduce any new producers."

She added: "All of the markets adhere to current Covid-19 regulations with hand sanitiser on all stalls as well as a separate sanitising station, social distancing between stalls as well as bollards

to guide customers."

The market dates scheduled for 2021 are: May 2, June 13, July 4, August 1, September 5, October 3, November 7 and November 28.
