Badenoch and Strathspey ramblers beat the weather

The trick, of course, is to get up and out before Brendan.

These intelligent walkers timed it well just before Storm Brendan rose to the occasion.

Led all the way by Donald Walker, a dozen members of the strath's rambling fraternity enjoyed a bright, beautiful sunny day before it all broke, travelling happily from Cromdale Church past Grantown and on through the Strathspey capital's gorgeous Anagach Woods, before following the Spey home.

It was "very high" they tell us, but as everyone now knows there was a lot worse to come just hours later...
