Badenoch MSP call on transport priorities

Badenoch MSP Kate Forbes is encouraging Highlanders to make their voices heard in a major national transport consultation organised by Transport Scotland.

A draft strategy has been published online, and there is an opportunity to submit views on how Scotland’s transport system should be shaped.

The survey, which can be completed at www.transport.gov.scot/NTS2, closes next Wednesday (October 23).

Ms Forbes, (SNP) MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, said: “This is an important consultation for everybody living in my constituency. I would strongly urge everyone to respond.

“Transport affects our daily lives – how we get to work, home or school. It generates a lot of frustration and debate about priorities.

“This is the opportunity to shape investment over the next few years. I know where the priorities are – the A82 being the most obvious one – but this needs to be shaped by the people who live and work in the Highlands.”
