British Airways flights between Inverness and London Heathrow have been cancelled amid high winds as Storm Eowyn closes in

Two British Airways flights between Inverness and Heathrow have been cancelled as Storm Eowyn closes in on the Highlands.

This morning’s incoming 10 am flight from the London airport arrived on schedule and the return 11.05 am service from the Highland capital to Heathrow also flew as usual, with only a minor delay.

But the 8.20 pm service to Heathrow will not fly this evening after the incoming flight from the UK capital, due to arrive at 7.35 pm, was grounded in the high winds.

A BA spokeswoman confirmed that stormy conditions had led to the cancellations.

Earlier today, all scheduled Loganair flights were cancelled, but EasyJet was able to service its morning flights between Inverness and Gatwick and remains scheduled to complete its flights between Inverness and Bristol.

KLM’s flights to and from Amsterdam also stayed on schedule
