Aviemore road works to be completed overnight
Road chiefs have said that repairs to the link road between the A9 and A95 at Granish will be complete by tomorrow morning.
Work started last night with the closure of the short stretch of road just north of Aviemore meaning detours in both directions for affected motorists.
A spokesperson for BEAR Scotland said: “Work began last night to carry out an overnight £85,000 surfacing project on the A95 Granish Junction near Aviemore over two nights.
"They are set to be completed overnight tonight (Friday).
“The work is taking place between 7.30pm and 6.30am, with an overnight closure of the A95 to the A9 junction required for safety.
"Northbound traffic is being diverted via the A938 Carrbridge junction into Carrbridge, then onto the B9153 to Kinveachy where road users can rejoin the A95, and vice-versa for southbound road users.
“We’re aware of the Thunder In The Glens event and have taken steps to mitigate against any disruption, such as arranging the project to take place overnight and removing any traffic management restrictions during the day.
“The project is due to finish by 6.30am on Saturday morning, and we thank all road users in advance for their patience while we upgrade the road surface at this location.”
