Both carriageways of the A9 by Aviemore are currently closed due to a road traffic accident involving two vehicles.
It is understood that the collision has occurred on the stretch of road between the Lynwilg and Granish junctions near to the Macdonald Aviemore Resort.
Motorists are being advised to use an alternative route. Traffic is normally diverted through Aviemore itself.
Traffic Scotland reported the closure of the two lanes at 8.55pm.
A Scottish and Fire Rescue Service spokesman said: “We got a call from 8.35pm from Police Scotland to ask SFRS to attend a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A9 and the road is currently closed.”
The police have also been contacted for more information.
