Dallas is relishing clash of two in-form Badenoch giants

Kingussie will be looking to shut out Newtonmore's talented attack.

KINGUSSIE assistant manager Barrie Dallas has said a win against local rivals Newtonmore will be a great springboard for the rest of the season.

The two in-form teams meet this evening with a 6pm throw-up at the Dell, and it should be quite a showdown.

The Kings have won their last three Premier League games and are currently above the defending league champions in the table albeit having played three more games.

Newtonmore have also been in fine form of late, having won their last six cup and league games.

Dallas said it'll be a tough encounter but one he believes his young charges can win.

He said: "We've had a bit of an up an down season so far with our cup runs being disappointing but our league form has been consistent and we've been growing as a team all year.

"We are now coming into our best form demonstrated by three straight league wins in our last three games.

"The biggest improvement is up front where we've scored 11 goals in those three games and it's great to see the young mobile forward line adding to the strength and stability that the defence and midfield have provided all season.

"Whilst it's nice to be sitting second at this point in the season the last four games are against teams in the top half of the table so it would be great to consolidate our position starting tonight against Newtonmore.

"After a poor start by their own recent standards they seem to have found some form so we know not to underestimate them especially as they have an older team with a lot of experience.

"But at the same time we know that we can beat them if we play with the desire and ability we have already shown in previous games this season."
