Assistant manager Mike Rae will be in charge of Strathspey Thistle for the foreseeable future.

He is stepping in as caretaker boss following the departure of Rob MacCormack earlier this week.

Rae will be in the dug-out for the visit of Keith to Seafield Park this afternoon for the 2pm kick-off.

Strathspey Thistle issued a statement last night thanking MacCormack for his year in the job and the dedication he had shown.

The club said: "STFC have reluctantly accepted manager Robert MacCormack’s decision to resign immediately from his post.

"He had originally informed the committee of his intention to leave at the end of the season but has chosen now to go to enable the club to more easily prepare for next season.

"We would like to thank Rob for all his hard work and dedication over the past year in what has been a difficult season – the undertaking of signing players and then, their commitment to playing every Saturday was I know one of the most arduous.

"Had the amount of work Rob put in between games been mirrored on the park our league position would be a lot higher.

"Rob will always be welcome at Seafield Park and we wish him and his family all the best for the future."

Today's fixtures (3pm kick-off unless otherwise stated): Strathspey Thistle v Keith (2pm); Brechin City v Deveronvale; Formartine United v Huntly; Forres Mechanics v Brora Rangers; Fraserburgh v Banks o' Dee; Inverurie Loco Works v Wick Academy; Lossiemouth v Buckie Thistle; Rothes v

Clachnacuddin; Turriff United v Nairn County.
