But the Kings will be concerned to have let three slip by at the other end from Sean Nicholson, Ben Delaney and Andrew MacDonald. In the final, Kingussie will meet Inveraray, who ran out 2-1 winners over Oban Camanachd at Taynuilt through first half efforts from Chris Crawford and Stuart Robertson. Aiden MacIntyre pulled one back for Oban, but Liam MacIntyre was sent off for Oban and now faces a long ban after being given his marching orders just three weeks ago as well. As the Kings were making progress to the final and Newtonmore were knocking Fort William off top spot, it was Glenurquhart who took advantage with a 2-1 win away to Bute in the Premier League. Dave MacLennan gave the Glen the early lead before Stewart Strathie levelled with just seven minutes left on the clock. Neil Reid hit the winner for the Glen two minutes later. Although the Glen can bask temporarily in the glory of top spot, they have played five more games than the Badenoch clubs and are only two points clear. In the other Premier League tie, Kyles Athletic won 4-1 in Dalmally over bottom club Glenorchy who, with just two points from 13 games, will have their work cut out to survive. |
