Ross, who claimed his 1,000th senior goal last week against Lovat, was again firing on all cylinders in front of goal with his haul incuding an 88th minute penalty. Ryan Borthwick and Paul Gow also got on the scoresheet for the Kings. John Stewart gave Kilmallie an early lead before Ross grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. Trevor Jackson scored Kilmallie's other goal. Lochaber also progressed to the second round with a 4-2 win at home to Strathglass, thanks mainly to a Sean Nicolson hat-trick. But the biggest winners in the Macaulay were Oban Camanachd who demolished Glasgow Mid Argyll 9-0 at Mossfield Park. Aiden MacIntyre, Scott MacMillan, Ian MacMillan and Brian MacCallum all scored doubles for Oban with David MacInnes also counting. Bute were no match for Inveraray in the semi-final of the Glasgow Celtic Society Cup, losing out 5-3, while in the Balliemore Cup, Lovat won their quarter final 3-1 at home to Lochcarron. Kinlochshiel booked their place in the final with a similar scoreline at home to Kilmory. Related articles: |
