Goals from Aisling O'Shea (2) and Jolanta Lundgren saw the Aberdeen girls to a 3-1 win in their Caledonian Canal Challenge Cup first round tie against the Harps, for whom Sarah Murdin replied.

The Granite City's reward is a quarter-final against Lochgilphead-based Dunadd on the big cup day for the women's game, which takes place at the University of Stirling on Sunday, June 7.

All quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup plus the semi-finals of the Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup will be played at the university campus in Bridge of Allan in a showcase for the sport.

In North Division Two, Glengarry registered their second success of the season with a 1-0 win away to Strathglass.

Laura McConachie hit the bar for the home side in a goalless first period but, as Glengarry's greater experience began to tell, Strath were indebted to goalkeeper Gillian Currie for keeping the visitors at bay until 10 minutes from time when Lauren Doherty finished neatly from close range following a corner.

Fixtures this Sunday (May 31): South Central Division Two – Cowal and Bute v Tir Conaill Harps. South West Division Two – Kintyre v Glenorchy. North Division Two – Lochaber v Glengarry. North Under-18 squad training at Spean Bridge.
