KINCRAIG went down 3-0 to visitors Lochcarron in their opening game of the new season, with all the goals coming in the first period.

The first came from Iain Cameron with a shot from the left wing. Cameron was on hand again for the second with a low drive from the edge of the box after a neat Lochcarron one-two.

The most unfortunate of goals was scored when Kincraig keeper Mark Taylor lost his stick at a hit out, losing his grip in the wet conditions. As he went to retrieve his stick the Lochcarron forward Kenny Murray hit a long speculative shot into the empty net.

In the second half, Lochcarron again dominated but resolute home defending kept them at bay.

At the Dell, Kingussie seconds took on Newtonmore in their second division opener and a hard fought game saw goals from Craig Dawson and Martin Dallas edge out their Eilan neighbours, for whom Paul MacKintosh scored.

Perhaps the biggest surprise in North Division Two was the defeat of champions Fort William 4-2 at Glen Urquhart.

Daniel Stewart gave the visitors the lead in four minutes, but Calum Fraser equalised to leave the match poised at 1-1 at the turn.

Stewart restored Fort's lead, but Ewen Fraser equalised before David Smart and Ewen Menzies gave the home side the win. The other winners in North 2 were Lovat, 2-1 over Glengarry, while the games at Kilmallie and Skye were wiped out.

In North Division 1, the early table toppers are Skye who recorded a 4-0 win away over Inverness at Bught Park.

Iain Nicolson and Sorley MacDonald gave Skye an early lead with goals in the fourth and sixth minutes. Kenny Campbell made it 3-0, and Alan Palmer sealed the result in the final minute.

Kilmallie are also on maximum points after a 3-1 win at Caberfeidh. A first half John Stewart hat-trick sealed Cabers' fate, with Kevin Bartlett scoring the consoltation in the 77th minute. Beauly and Kinlochshiel shared the points and a brace of goals at Beauly while the match at Locharron fell victim to the weather.
