Police have called off a large-scale search for a missing child in Inverness, involving police officers, search teams and the British Red Cross and Coastguard, after she was found safe and well in a property near her home.

Hope Mackay had been out playing in the area of The Moorings, Anderson Street, Inverness with other children, when last seen at about 12:30pm.

Police appealed for anyone in this area to check their houses, outbuildings, garages and gardens. Hope was subsequently found safe and well and the Police have thanked the public for their cooperation and assistance.
