Drugs courier caught by Inverness with "rock" in underpants

Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood adjourned the case until October 26 for the offender to appear personally.

A Liverpool drug offender has had his sentence deferred for a personal appearance at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Gerard Tristran (53) was strip searched at the city’s police station in Burnett Road after being stopped in a car with several other people on April 18 this year.

Road traffic officers were acting on intelligence received and pulled the car over on the A9 at Daviot.

Depute Fiscal David Morton told the court: “When strip searched at Burnett Road Police Station, a small rock was recovered from his underwear which appeared to be a quantity of controlled drugs.

“It was later discovered to be five and a half grammes of cocaine which was valued at £250.”

Tristran, of Bins Road, Old Swan, Liverpool, pleaded guilty by letter. But Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood adjourned the case until October 26 for him to appear personally.
